I'm totally double posting, which is probably annoying to the three of you who read both blogs, but we got our official adoption approval from China today (our LOA)! It came really quick, so I didn't even answer the phone when I saw our agency on caller ID (I was on an important conference call, which always seems to be the case when important adoption calls come in). The thought did cross my mind that today was the 4 week mark, but in my mind the real waiting began today. But in God's overwhelming grace, it also ended!
So that wait ended and another one began-- the wait for travel approval (2-3 months). There are about 5 little steps before we're actually waiting for our TA, that my brain refuses to remember the details of what they are and what I'm supposed to do for each one. It is completely different than what we had to do for Lily's adoption (pre-Hauge, when you got your TA a month or less after your LOA) so I am clueless. I just know I have a packet of stuff to mail back to immigration tomorrow as soon as the FedEx from our agency gets here with a very pretty and very official piece of Chinese paper "seeking our confirmation" to adopt Hope. Yes sir, we seek to confirm that Hope is a Harrell!
If our TA comes quick, we can travel in early June. If it comes medium, then mid-late June. If it comes late, it will be more like July. I just wanted to avoid August (too close to school starting and even swampier) so I am thankful for all of these potential travel scenarios. And especially thankful that we have a good chance of being home in time for my cousin Matt's family's visit for July 4th.
Onward to getting Hope's room ready and planning for language learning...
